ohhhh yeaaayuh! There's gonna be trooouble.
Today was most triumphant. I was able to meet my all-time favorite hero and role-model, Randy (the Macho Man) Savage. I ran into him at the mall and we totally hit it off. After helping him out with some shopping at Victoria's Secret, we went out for some beers and Slim Jims...

    late late, update
this is a tad bit late, considering today is Day 10. But for recording's sake, here we go:

    Day 7 = 186

on another note, I feel like I'm stranded in the valley of tribal half-sleeves. Started YET another one today. Lined it, started the arduous task of filling in that black. 3 hours straight. My index and middle finger are still buzzing, all the way down to my wrist (isn't that carpal tunnel?).

Welcome to the Valley of Tribal Half-Sleeve, where every neckhead has no face. No mind. No thought outside the box.

    uh yeah
This last weekend was a bit interesting. On Saturday I went to the Tattoo AZ gallery opening. There was a lot of good shit. Bob put in a couple painting and a wood sculpture. Tom put in a few drawings and his Monopolar Electromagnetic Carbonizing Ray, which pretty much stole the show. That's just the fancy name for the tesla coil he built. He couldn't demonstrate it though due to faulty wiring at the gallery and the fact that anyone with a pacemaker would probably drop dead. Jed even put in a painting under his tattoo-moniker, Johnny Threetimes (a nickname I'm responsible for). Did I put anything in? Of course not, I'm king-slacker.

I ran into Donovan at the show. It was good to see that guy. He had two paintings in the show, I thought they were pretty good. I talked to him for a bit, talked shop. He asked where Dana was and if I was still with her. I laughed. He wants me to come by the shop sometime. I told him that I'd try and make it out there soon and that I'd even try to drag Dana along if she were up for it.

An artist from Phoenix Tattoo Company came upto me sometime later in the night and thought I was Aaron Coleman. I don't resemble Aaron at all. Anyways, I corrected him and introduced myself. We talked a bit about Nick Baxter's visit last winter. Weird.

    Anyways, here's a tattoo I did tonight:

    I drink a 1000 shipwrecks...
so, here's my update for the year (I'm joking, I'm just a mega-slacker). I got a drawing table and easel today from Shag (the tattoo artist, not the high-brow artist). So I officially have no reason not to draw and paint like a retard. I tattooed today. Today's my day off. I worked for 5 hours out of my house (because my friend has been exiled from the shop for a certain reason). She's really happy with it, as am I. Here's a picture...

Picture is blurry as fuck and doesn't do the tattoo justice. Yeah, that's ride side up. Why an upside-down crossbones? Because I can.

    Because I can.

PS: to all the people I still mean to tattoo, I'm coming along. I swear.

there's no romance on these city streets,
you drive em' once and you've seen everything
the river's rising up, city's sinking down
and i'm just trying to get back to the other side of town
where I've got a little girl and she's waiting on me

she says, 'i'll see you when you get home'
and now these working days are gettin just a lil too long
i can see her now, sittin at the kitchen table
record player playin for a rock'n'roll angel
she says, 'i'll see you when you get home'

    now we ain't got much
but this town belongs to us
cuz to me, she's mine, tonight
    tonight, she's mine...

    he's back, sojourn commenced
so, I've actually managed to kick my caffeine addiction. I wouldn't say I've gone "cold turkey" from the soda, but I've pretty much reversed the way I intake liquids. Water 99% of the time, and small doses of sugars here and there. I've lost 10 pounds already. Not being so hopped up on caffeine has its rewards as well. There's a sense of clarity that's been absent for so long, I don't mumble as often as I used to. I also don't sweat as much. Gotta love hydration eh?

In other news, I'm goin to be cliche and post some song lyrics. This song has been on repeat for a few days...

The New Amsterdams - "From California"

Uncommon amount of the time at home,
hardly a word on the telephone.
Finally find the time to get to know you.
Mapping it out like a masterplan,
something to do with my idle hands.
Write you a letter addressed from California.

It's vivid and strong in my memory,
an absence that smacks of abandoning.
It led to the battle that ultimately destroyed us.
I'm nothing if I don't know your mistakes,
this pill is as bitter as I can take.
It twists like a blade when I leave for California.

La da, la da da, da da, da da, da da da da
La da, la da da, da da, da da, da da da da

I hope that you know this is killing me,
it's all in the name of the family.
We only can play the cards the dealer dealt us.
The end of the cycle is closing in,
with you I see new hope begin again.
There suddenly seems to be promise in California.

La da, la da da, da da, da da, da da da da
La da, la da da, da da, da da, da da da da

As heavy as all this is weighing me,
believe in the words I am promising.
    I'm still here for her.
The distance is only an obstacle,
hardly a match for a miracle.
I'm finally ready to go to California.
